Annual Holiday Dinner (Dec. 4, 2021)

story by Sharon Dominguez; pictures by Mark Wing.

The Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque held their post-COVID annual Holiday Dinner and Officer Installation dinner in the Azevedo’s “Big Barn” after the Corrales Twinkle Light Parade. There were 38 members in attendance. Dinner was catered from Mario’s Pizza & Ristorante on 4th Street NW. We feasted on salad, beef lasagna, southwest chicken pasta, spaghetti with meatballs and breadsticks. A variety of cakes were provided for dessert, as well as tea, lemonade and coffee to drink. After dinner, 2021 President Paul Duncan presented certificates of appreciation, lifetime membership certificates and the coveted “Presidents Award” – which was given to three members this year (Marilyn Duncan, Dave Ferro and Mark Wing)for their outstanding support in helping Paul in 2021. After all certificates were given out the installation of officers for 2022 began. The “Oath of Office” was recited with lots of laughter. 2022 President Mark Dominguez then gave a short speech. The party continued with more mingling, storytelling and even a little bit of karaoke! Everyone went home well feed and hopefully in the holiday spirit. Thanks to all who helped with cleaning and setting up the “Big Barn” for the evening.
