Los Alamos Tour (Aug. 8-11th, 2013)

Our first tour for the year was to Portales, New Mexico in May.  The second Tin Lizzies tour for 2013 was to Los Alamos, New Mexico, organized by Skip and Hedy Dunn, who live in nearby White Rock.  The tour was attended by 22 Tin Lizzie members and friends with 8 club Model Ts participating.

Thursday (August 8th)

The tour started on Thursday, August 8th when the Tin Lizzie members took the two hour drive from the Albuquerque area to the Comfort Inn on Trinity Drive in Los Alamos.  The first evening was spent settling into our hotel and going to the Dixie Girl Restaurant for a delicious dinner.  After dinner entertainment was viewing “Genevieve”, a classic 1953 British comedy about a wager made between friends on a London to Brighton race of pre-1904 cars.  It was delightful!

Thank you to Skip and Hedy Dunn for organizing this enjoyable tour.  We now have a new appreciation for their beautiful Northern New Mexico community, with its rich cultural history, breath-taking scenery, intelligent and well-educated citizenry, and numerous cultural activities!
