On a cool Saturday, eight Tin Lizzie members— John Burnett, Paul & Marilyn Duncan, Betty Houston, Steve Kranz, Frank & Susan Lewark, and Leonard Scarborough participated in the “Cruise for a Cause” car show along with other members from the Socorro Old Car Club held at the Houston Flea Market lot on Socorro’s California Street. This event was a fund raiser to benefit the Socorro Storehouse food pantry. With a donation to the cause, riders could get a ride in any of the assembled vehicles that included 4 Model Ts: Betty & Vernon Houston‘s roadster (’19) driven by Paul Duncan, John & Carol Burnett‘s roadster (’26), Frank & Susan Lewark‘s touring (’26) and a Depot Hack (’26) owned by Bob Eveleth a member of the Socorro Old Car Club. Additional cars at the show included Steve Krantz‘ Chevrolet Corvette (’80), Leonard Scarborough‘s Chevy Sedan (’53) and the Houston‘s Buick “Roadmaster” convertible (’46) and a Chevy “ Bel Air” (’57). All of the drivers were kept busy with enthusiastic riders.
