Fall Tour to the East Mountains (Oct. 13, 2013)

Mark and Sharon Dominguez organized a fall tour to the mountains, east of Albuquerque, to cap off the Tin Lizzies touring season for the year.  In addition to seeing some leaves displaying their Autumn colors, it was an opportunity to give our cars a good run and eat ice cream!  We met at the intersection of Tramway and Central and drove eastward on Old Route 66 (Hwy 333) and stopped along the way to rendezvous with East Mountain club members Vern and Pat Willan.  We proceeded eastward on Old 66 and tuned south on Hwy 217, experiencing multiple (sometimes steep) rolling hills along the way.

After approximately 10 miles, Hwy 217 turned into Hwy 337.  We took a looping and scenic drive on Raven Road – a hilly and winding drive through a residential area before returning to Hwy 337 and a picnic lunch stop at the Old Tyme Shop – and ice cream parlor.

At the Old Tyme Shop, we enjoyed the warm afternoon and the lunches we had packed.  For dessert, the Old Tyme Shop offered tasty cones and ice cream sundays!

Thank you Mark and Sharon for organizing this great tour – our last for 2013.
