Tonight’s Program – Larry Azevedo did an entertaining demonstration on the correct order for the spark plugs to fire (1, 2, 4, 3) and what the 3 elements that can lessen your speed & fuel mileage with the easy effect & hard effect things you can do to restrict wind resistance, engine power and friction. Also, what it takes to qualify your T for the Montana 500 (next tour is June 10 – 12 in Glendive, MT). Your T has to have a stock body (all correct) with the windshield closed & sealed shut and only adjustments to engine would be to the cam shaft, a little more compression ratio & a slightly larger intake manifold and stay within the posted speed limits. Once the race is over, the winning car is taken to the local Ford Dealer where a crew is ready to take it totally apart and check every inch for the correct part. If winning car is disqualified, then 2nd place car goes through the same process then so on and so forth. Kirk Peterson & co-pilot Larry Azevedo (now in the process of putting together his own race car with the help of many Tin Lizzies members) took 10th place. You need to maintain about 46 mph and will be trying to maintain 51 – 52 mph with 60 mph + on flatlands.
Meeting adjourned 8:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted by Linda Riel, Secretary
