There was discussion for recently passed Irene Sena that she had become a Lifetime member but had not been active in the Club if she was included in our donation for MTFCA for our fallen members. Secretary Linda Riel made the motion to include Irene Sena in the $50 donation and seconded by Vaughn Rockafellow. Motion passed. Informed of a different exiting procedure that will be followed according to State Police and access to the parking lot for gathering to parade into the grounds and keep modern vehicles & trailers is permitted. Since it is 9/11, there will be a ceremony for all participants to partake in.

Paul Duncan provided a small list of places on the agenda including San Lorenzo Canyon, Bosque del Apache. Dave Ferro along with Paul & Marilyn Duncan will head out in a couple of weeks to meet with Frank Lewark and go over everything.

Unfinished business (Old) –

Valencia High School Paul Duncan – A lot of parts that were ordered from Lang’s have come in. Paul Duncan & Dave Ferro are planning a visit sometime in July.

Fairview Cemetery Association cleanup & restoration day on May 30th had Paul & Marilyn Duncan’s car on display along with 2 Model A’s. There is a grant from the Veteran’s Administration through the State due to come in which will certainly help and wood chips have been donated from some tree cutting business to place among the headstones.

Follow-up on previous event – breakfast 6/4 @ The Vineyard hosted by Betty Housholder (absent) with resident Connie acting on her behalf. There were a lot of rides given with 4 Model T’s starting at 8:30 and 12 members in attendance for breakfast at 9.

Montana 500 June 11 – 15 drivers Kirk Peterson came in 7th place with co-pilot Dave Ferro who got the “you know what” scared out of him when cross winds and headwinds were exceptionally bad and the driver’s door kept opening up thinking it was similar to the movie Ford versus Ferrari but able to maintain about 47 mph which all of this could explain the need for an emergency road stop and Larry Azevedo driving solo averaging 54 mph as the exhaust pipe fell off, fiddling with the carburetor and using both a bottle of water and a fire extinguisher while driving down the road. Both battled horrendous side winds for the 75 miles stretch on the interstate making it hard to stay in the lane (definitely needed a change of underwear). Dave Ferro and possibly Mark Dominguez are thinking of getting a T ready for next year. After 2 years of getting ready for this Larry Azevedo can now get his list of honey do’s taken care of but wanted to thank the many members who had helped in the process of getting ready; Kirk Peterson, Jim Glover, Mark Dominguez, Mark Wing, Paul & Marilyn Duncan, Gerald Hash and Bob Hawk. Turns out that Larry Azevedo came in 1st place but was disqualified when during tear down after the race, the gauge used to measure the carburetor jet passed through the opening. President Mark Dominguez stated, “That’s OK, both of you are winners.” It was jokingly stated that we could do our own version with a New Mexico 500.

Father’s Day Car Show at La Vida Llena was a success with 4 T’s in attendance courtesy of Mark Wing, Stan & Janice Gauna, Don Mitchell & Mark Dominguez and a few Mustangs showed up. Hamburgers, hotdogs, ice cream and drinks was provided. One of the residents gave us a few Ford wrenches including one spark plug wrench. Mark Dominguez had a little chat with former member Ralph Johnson. Mark Wing was awarded 3rdplace winner with the 1925 Touring.

New business –

Corrales 4th of July Parade with Annual BBQ to follow at Larry & Lorna Azevedo’s house with hot dogs, hamburgers & lemonade provided. Please bring a salad, side dish or dessert and of course your lawn chairs. Parade starts 10 am and should be in line at the Elementary School no later than 9:15. Keeping fingers crossed cars and horses will go first (hopefully in that order). Show up by 8:30 to decorate. Vaughn Rockafellow volunteered to drive the Telephone Truck.

Next Month’s T n Vittles 7/9 will be hosted by Vaughn Rockafellow with a picnic at Jerry Klein Park located 7001 Constitution Ave NE (Louisiana – I40) 11am

Next Month’s Refreshments 7/28 will be our ice cream social. When time gets closer Linda Riel will send out an email for members to indicate what they are bringing so that we do not have an overabundance of the same thing.

There will be a hot rod reunion on October 15 starting 10 am at the Albuquerque Dragway behind the airport by Netflix. You can run the quarter mile and have fun. Jim Glover will have some handouts.

Holiday party will coincide with the Corrales Holiday Parade again with Larry & Lorna Azevedo offering the use of their barn for our gathering. Details will be forthcoming as time gets closer.

General Odd’s n End’s –

Have you notice that Lang’s is not carrying some of the items previously listed in their catalog i.e., hood shelves, wheel and rim but most disheartening is the as with everything else, prices are increasing.

Birthday wishes to Jessica Lance who will be celebrating (tomorrow) the 24th.

Swap Meets –

The Los Lunas Swap Meet is on for 9/24 & 9/25 at a location a couple of blocks down the street after the railroad tracks.

FYI –

Tonight’s Program – Larry Azevedo will talk about the Montana 500. Charades in which a model T part will need to be acted out is re-scheduled for another time and next Month’s Program – Vaughn Rockafellow is hoping to get an expert on NM license plates.

Jim Glover asked if T n Vittles has to be breakfast. No, it does not. You are hosting so you can choose the time of day. It is mostly around 8 -9 time frame with the occasional 9 -10 and for next month 11 lunch. Feel free to give Linda Riel a call or send an email with questions.

Susan Wing is walking around and using her right arm more and dealing with some pain. Keep the good thoughts coming.

Meeting adjourned 7:44 p.m.

Respectfully submitted by Linda Riel, Secretary
