4th of July Parade and BBQ (Jul. 4, 2022)

Story and Photos by Fran Gurule (except as noted).

The 2022 Fourth of July Parade was a resounding success!

Ten model T’s were decorated and appreciated by the crowds with lots of waves and comments. Andy came in from Durango and drove Larry’s 1912 touring. Vaughn drove the 1925 telephone truck. Sharron’s friend Al drove her 1924 fire truck with her by his side and her daughter in the back. Stan drove his depot hack with his three Granddaughters. Dave drove Larry’s 1925 speedster until the battery died during the parade. Larry came to the rescue in his 1923 truck and towed him the rest of the way. Lorna and Fran wore 1920’s swimsuits in Lorna’s 1915 speedster. Neil drove his 1920 fire truck. Phil and Jessica drove their 1927 roadster and Paul and Marilyn drove their 1927 pickup.

Following the parade we went to the annual barbecue hosted by Larry and Lorna Azevedo. It was the biggest and best ever. Everyone enjoyed good food and friends. We were glad to see Steve Suttle and his wife Denise.
