Hats and Afternoon Tea at the Cemetery (Apr. 20, 2023)

Story and Photos by Paul and Marilyn Duncan

The Historic Fairview Cemetery

700 Yale Blvd NE. Albuquerque, NM

2:00-5:00 pm

Eleven Tin Lizzies with seven Model T’s joined others at a unique Tea Party in the old section of Fairview Cemetery. Members of the Historic Fairview Cemetery organization board led by Sara Sather organized the Tea Party as a spring fundraiser. The weather cooperated. St. James Tea Room tea was served along with sandwiches and cakes prepared by board members. It was a fine event and a good spring exercise for the Model T’s.  Attendees were treated to rides in the Model T’s which is always enjoyable because so many people really don’t know much about the T’s.  Tin Lizzies who attended were:  Paul and Marilyn Duncan with their 1927 Roadster Pickup; Neil and MaryAnn O’Brien with their 1920 LaVerne Firetruck; Larry Azevedo with his grandson’s Cole Widekind’s 1927 Touring; Lorna Azevedo and Fran Gurule in Lorna’s 1925 Speedster; Dave Ferro in his 1918 Depot Hack with Scottie Dog Kenzie; Mark and Susan Wing in their 1925 Touring and Paul Beck who came with his 1920 TT Truck.

Before leaving, we needed to fix a problem with a member’s T. Tune into the May-June Newsletter to learn about the fix.
