Saturday, August 23rd, was our annual car show at Rich Ford in Edgewood, New Mexico. The Tin Lizzies assembled at 8AM at the intersection of Tramway Blvd. and Central Ave. for the 23 mile drive eastward on Old Route 66 to Edgewood, NM. We several cars in the caravan and were joined by other club members who met us at the dealership. We had a total of 12 cars at the show.
The weather was wonderful on this Saturday – much cooler than in years past. The club members spent time discussing our cars, eating the hot dogs and snow cones provided by Rich Ford, and enjoyed the cool shade of the trees. The only drama this day was Bruce accidentally rear-ending Larry’s 1921 Raceabout with his 1925 Tudor while approaching the parking area. Strangely, Bruce’s radiator, which hit the wedge shaped rear end of the Raceabout, didn’t leak in spite of a deep indentation. Larry’s Raceabout will require some body and paint work to be as good as new again. Other than this incident, everyone enjoyed themselves until 3 pm when it was time to head back home.
Thank you to Linda Riel who coordinated this event with our generous hosts Dennis Snyder and the other folks at Rich Ford!
