Our monthly club breakfast this month was organized by Vernon Armstrong at a restaurant near his home in the village of Los Lunas, NM, a community approximately 30 miles south of Albuquerque. The destination was Henrietta’s Dining and Coffee Shop, a popular Los Lunas eatery well known for its Mexican food as well as their breakfasts.
Due to the distance, several club members traveling, and some cars down for repairs, only two Model T’s made the trek this morning with other attendees driving modern cars. Most club members met first at the Vineyard Retirement Community, where we hold our monthly meetings, while other members drove directly to the restaurant. The two T’s this day were Don Mitchell driving his 1927 tudor, with Bob Hawk riding along, and Paul and Marilyn Duncan driving their 1920 touring car with Mark Wing in the rear seat. The weather was brisk but pleasant and the drive via Edith Blvd. and Hwy 47 was leisurely and scenic.
The staff at Henrietta’s had reserved a private room for us and they could have accommodated many more people than the 19 club members who attended that morning. The food and service were excellent and everyone had a wonderful time.
Thank you to Vernon for hosting this event!
