Tn’Vittles at Golden Corral, Feb. 9, 2013

The Tn’Vittles breakfast for February was hosted by Mark and Susan Wing at the Golden Corral on San Mateo.  The breakfast was attended by 27 club members and 4 Model Ts.  The weather is getting warmer in Albuquerque, but still a bit too chilly to drive open cars.  The oldest car driven that morning was the Azevedo’s 1923 coupe that still has its original paint, upholstery, and engine.  This car was previously owned by Larry’s parents in Northern California.  This wonderful coupe has accessories that were in use when the car was used as regular transportation such as Hassler shock absorbers, a speedometer, and a foot-actuated throttle.  The Wings and Steve Suttle brought their very similar 1925 model year coupes. The Wing’s coupe engine was cast in Nov. 1924 and is registered as a 1924 in New Mexico while Steve’s engine was cast in very early 1925).  Both cars have the red pin striping detail that is correct on the closed cars.  The only major difference between these cars are the wheel sizes.  The Wing’s coupe has the 21″ wheels that were an option for that model year and it also has bumpers that are thought to be on the car when it was new.  Don Mitchell drove his beautifully restored maroon 1927 Tudor.

The Golden Corral had a room set aside for our club and they offer a very wide array of food.  Everyone chowed down with gusto and the only complaint was that they ate too much!
