The Enchanted Loop Tour (Sept. 28th – 30th) was organized by senior Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque members Larry and Lorna Azevedo and Kirk and Susan Peterson. In preparing for the tour, they organized and developed the itinerary and thoroughly documented locations, mileage, and elevations of all the routes. They also chose a time of year when northern New Mexico would be sliding into Fall and the leaves would be changing color.
When it was finally time for the tour to begin, the Red River area was experiencing late season monsoonal rains. Luck was with us as it rained every evening and sometimes during the daytime, but, with minor exceptions, the driving conditions were clear and sometimes sunny!
The Riverside Lodge in Red River, New Mexico provided the accommodations for most of the tour participants, with the Willan and O’Brien families staying at a nearby RV park. The only event on the schedule this Thursday was a Happy Hour with snacks in the lodge kitchen beginning at 5 PM. It was also an opportunity for the Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque club members to meet or reacquaint ourselves with our friends from Nebraska, Wisconsin and Arkansas!
