The main project for the day was the rewiring of the Ballut-Abyad Shrine Calliope Model T. Over the years, there have been a number of Shriner’s involved with the running of the Shrine Model T’s. Recently, Larry determined that there were apparent shorts in the system and the best approach was to remove all the old wiring and rewire. Today Tin Lizzie Tracy Brannan and Dave Stinebaugh both from the Shrine trailered the T to Larry’s. Dave Ferro, Kirk Peterson, Tracy, Mark Wing and Larry completed the rewiring including the Key switch. The T promptly started. Tracy was delighted and Dave Stinebaugh joined the Tin Lizzies.
Mark Wing brought a wishbone from an early T which needed repair (see pictures). Jim Glover came by to discuss the upholstery and new top for his 1925 Touring with Paul and Marilyn. Paul brought a number of books from John Haynes for those present to review. Paul plans to send some of the books to an internet seller and some will be auctioned off at our Tin Lizzie meeting.
Susan Peterson and Lorna took advantage of the hot tub. Sue Wing arrived and Larry started the grill for the late afternoon barbecue. Everyone brought something and in the end nine were present for the barbecue. Vaughn Rockafellow joined in the festivities. We all enjoyed a cool evening which is a pleasant change from the past weeks.
