Stan and Janice Gauna chose Grandma’s K & I Diner as the Tin Lizzies’ Tn’Vittles destination for Saturday, November 14th. This “off-the-beaten-path” diner is in the southern part of Albuquerque, better known for industrial business rather than great eateries. The K & I is a local landmark famous for its tasty food and super generous portions! Joining us this morning were Stan and Janice’s friends from their RV Club, Pete, Carmen, and Cathy Silva.
The weather was cold, so only two Model T’s were driven to the breakfast that morning. Dave and Ann Merewether drove their latest acquisition, a 1922 Center Door sedan – the only drivable Center Door in our club! This unusual body style, with a door on each side of body in the center, requires limber riders as you have to maneuver around to access the front seats. This model was discontinued later with the much more practical, and modern, Tudor design. Paul and Marilyn Duncan arrived in their 1920 touring – a T with a rich personal history as Marilyn used to play in that very car as a child on the family farm in Kansas. The breakfast was very well attended with 25 club members and guests. Everyone had a great time and the food was terrific.
Thank you Stan and Janice for organizing this enjoyable breakfast!
