Story and photos by Mark Wing
Betty Housholder invited the Tin Lizzies to attend a breakfast and to show our Model T’s at the Vineyard Retirement Community. Betty is a resident at this facility on Edith Blvd. and it’s also the location of the Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque monthly meetings. The Vineyard residents prepared the breakfast and it consisted of biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, juices, and coffee.
The Model T’s at the Vineyard included Steve Suttle’s 1925 coupe, the Wing’s late 1924 coupe, the Merewether’s 1918 pickup, the Dominguez’s 1927 touring car, Don Mitchell’s 1926 Tudor, the Azevedo’s drove the “Lorna Special” – her 1915 speedster, and Vern Willan drove his Model A speedster. Vern’s speedster was a very popular car on this morning and he provided several rides, primarily to fellow Tin Lizzies members. Everyone was very impressed by how quiet and powerful his Model A was!
Thank you to Betty and the folks at the Vineyard for inviting us to this breakfast and car show!
