Story and photos by Mark Wing
The Rich Ford car dealership in Albuquerque was celebrating their 59th anniversary and they invited the Tin Lizzies to display our cars on Sunday, March 8th. Our long-time club member Linda Riel coordinated this event with Rich Ford President and General Manager, Dennis Snyder, that included having two 1920 club vehicles on display in their showroom. The two 100-year old vehicles were the Duncan’s 1920 Model T touring car and the O’Brien’s 1920 Model TT Luverne fire truck.
In addition to the two vehicles on the showroom, eleven of our club Model T’s were on display on the west side of the dealership. Overcast conditions with the threat of rain kept the numbers of visitors lower than normal.
On this day, our Treasurer and membership coordinator, Marilyn Duncan, signed up Ben Abeyta, our newest Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque club member. Welcome Ben!
Our thanks go out to the Dennis Snyder and the nice folks at Rich Ford, the staff of the Mustang Cafe’ (who opened their cafe’ for us on a Sunday, their normal day off), and to Linda Riel for organizing this annual event.
