Our first Tn’Vittles breakfast for the New Year was held at the Egg & I restaurant on Menaul Blvd. and hosted by long-time Club members Mark and Sharon Dominguez. The Egg & I is quickly becoming a Tin Lizzies favorite because of it’s convenient location, excellent food, private room, and perhaps most importantly, Mark and Sharon’s son Jonathan works there when he’s not in school at the University of New Mexico. This Saturday morning, Albuquerque was experiencing very cold weather, so no one was brave enough to drive a T, but it was well attended with 32 Club members, friends, and family.
After breakfast, many of the Club members went to Larry’s garage to assist in the final preparation and packaging of the second fund raiser engine for the Model T Museum in Richmond, Indiana. This engine was won by Paul Lucchetti, in Massachusetts. The engine had been broken in while mounted on an engine stand and everyone was very impressed how smooth this engine ran. In addition to the parts and efforts donated by the Club, Paul had sent a lot of parts to optimize engine performance. The two major contributors to the smoothness of this engine were it’s SCAT balanced crankshaft and a Stipe 280 cam. The engine was removed from the test stand, mounted to a wood box, banded, and wrapped with plastic for shipping. We hope that this engine gives Paul many years of enjoyable and reliable service!
