Holiday Party at the Cooperage (Dec., 11, 2016)

This year’s Tin Lizzie holiday was held at the Cooperage restaurant, an Albuquerque institution for 40 years, specializing in steak, lobster, and prime rib.  The event was planned by Sharon Dominguez and was set to begin at 1pm.  Club members were asked to bring a toy to the event to donate to charity and the response was tremendous!

After enjoying the salad bar and main course, Mark Dominguez awarded the “2016 President’s Award” for outstanding service to the club to Kirk Peterson, a long-time member who’s tirelessly volunteered his time and effort for projects such as e-mail distribution, website calendar updates, and helping plan the 2016 MTFCA National “Land of Enchantment Tour” in New Mexico.  Mark also handed out certificates for existing and new Tin Lizzie “Life Members”.  Mark also thanked the existing club officers, board of directors, and volunteers for their assistance during the past year.

Larry Azevedo generously assists club members in the restoration and maintenance of their cars at his home in Corrales, NM.  In addition to allowing club members to use his garage/workshop, he is also a deep well of knowledge and possesses first-rate problem solving skills. As a token of appreciation, Larry was presented with a thank you card, a Laurel and Hardy photo (a famous still from one of their movies where they’re tearing the fenders off a Model T), and a parts book, circa 1915.  Larry and Lorna’s generosity in opening their home and garage to the club is one of the primary reasons that the club is so successful!

Next, Larry (who is one of the MTFCA Board of Directors), swore in the new officers for 2017.  They include:

President:  Vaughn Rockafellow

Vice President:  Kirk Peterson

Secretary:  Jessica Lance

Treasurer:  Marilyn Duncan

Board of Directors:  Dave Ferro, Brian Dean, and Vern Willan

Thank you to Sharon for organizing the event, and to our outgoing club officers and volunteers!
