The first Sunday of the New Mexico State Fair is always designated as “Vintage Cars and Classic Tractor Show”; this year was no different.  The weather was perfect for a day at the fair and talking Model T’s.

As we have in previous years, we gathered at the parking lot on Lynn and California around 7 am to parade into the Fairgrounds at 7:55 am, per our fair coordinators instructions.  This year we had 14 Model T’s which included 2 Fire Engines (courtesy of the O’Brien Families).

We drove into the fairgrounds, parking our cars along the main street called “Avenue of the Governors”.  After setting up the various stanchions, chains and displays we were free to explore the many displays in the buildings and partake of the fair food.  Many of us stayed with the cars and spent the day talking with folks about the Model T’s.

At exactly 3 pm, the New Mexico State Police gave us an escort through the fair to the exit gate. They even blocked traffic for us to safely get out onto the main road.  We then went back to the staging area to load cars back onto trailers; or headed home if cars were drove to the staging area.
