The Rich Ford car dealership in Albuquerque was celebrating its 57th anniversary and Dennis Snyder, the Rich Ford President, invited the Tin Lizzies to show our Model Ts on Sunday, March 4th. The car show at Rich Ford has become an annual event, coordinated by senior Tin Lizzie member Linda Riel. We had nine cars there ranging from 1917 through 1927. Honoring a tradition of displaying a car in the showroom that’s a century old, this year the featured car was Dave Ferro’s 1918 depot hack. The Depot hack looked very sharp as Dave had recently had the fenders painted.
Joining us for the first time was new Tin Lizzie member Daniel Barnhouse. Daniel’s grandfather, Bill Barnhouse is a WWII veteran and owned a 1919 Model T touring car. His son, Gene, coordinated with Paul Duncan and Larry Azevedo for the touring car to be serviced at Larry’s Garage as it hadn’t run in 4-5 years. After repairs to an ignition switch, Bendix, carburetor, and new gas tank, the car now runs well! Daniel will be the new owner of the touring car. We look forward to another generation of Barnhouse family participation in club events!
Thank you to Linda for organizing this event and to our generous hosts, Dennis Snyder and the fine folks a Rich Ford for an enjoyable day!
