Sisters Sharron Geilenfeldt and Rita-Loy Simmons were the hostesses of this month’s Tn’Vittles breakfast. The breakfast was held at Sharron’s home in the northeast part of Albuquerque. Sharron and Rita-Loy prepared quiche, watermelon, beans, tamales and chili. Other club members brought other items such as scones, coffeecake, and empanadas. The food was delicious and the variety was delightful!
Sharron’s late husband Richard was an avid car collector and among his collection were three period correct Model Ts. These included a 1912 Speedster built by Red Runkle, of El Paso, a past MTFCA president; a 1924 fire department truck from Eaton, Rhode Island; and a 1927 Gallup Volunteer Fire Department, Assistant Chief touring car. Most club members had never seen these and the other cars in the collection before so it was a real treat for avid car enthusiasts. Of the three Model T’s, Sharron and her friend Al Ahlrich plan to drive the 1924 fire truck on the Tin Lizzie tour to Las Vegas, NM toward the end of the month. We’re really looking forward to Sharron and Al’s participation on the Las Vegas tour as drivers.
Many thanks to Sharron and Rita-Loy for hosting this wonderful breakfast and to Al for showing us the garages and the eclectic and impressive collection!
