Story and Photos by Paul Duncan
Eight Tin Lizzies showed up to assist with the removal of the engine and differential in Dave Ferro’s 1924 Touring T- N.M. 382 Montana 500 racer. They were: Neil O’Brien, Kirk Peterson, John Criswell, Mark Dominguez, Larry Azevedo, Paul and Marilyn Duncan, and Dave Ferro. Mark and Kirk were tasked with mounting 5 tires onto the wheels. It greatly helped that the sun was shinning, which made mounting the tires bit easier.
Paul and Marilyn soon left to meet Freighter Jim at a storage facility off Unser where Les Mathson’s 1917 Touring was stored. Tin Lizzie members Les and Terry Mathson have recently moved back to Wisconsin and they plan to continue their Tin Lizzie membership. Freighter Jim was picking up the Mathson T to deliver it to their new Wisconsin Home near Milwaukee.
At the same time, he was delivering to the Lance’s their recent 1922 Touring T purchase from Virginia. Phil, Jessica, her brother Roman Chavez and his kids drove to Larry’s. Phil told me this was the first Tour ready T in the Lance Model T collection. I noted a Holley carb and a distributor which is a good combination for trouble free driving. This looks like a very good purchase and we look forward to seeing the Lance’s on a future T tour.
