Work Day at Larry’s Garage (June 8, 2021)

Story and photos by Mark Wing

The primary project for this Tuesday work day at Larry’s garage was the body removal from Don Neidigk’s 1926 coupe. When Don bought his 1926 coupe some years ago, he found that it exhibited a lot wear in the drivetrain and body. Don’s engine and transmission were recently rebuilt at Larry’s Garage, and his attention is now focused on the body. Removal of the body is important for a high-quality restoration and Larry’s hydraulic lift made the removal task easy! The electrical and mechanical connections between the body and frame were attended to first. Once the body was lifted, and the chassis was rolled out of the way, the body was lowered onto four furniture dollies. The body looks very straight, but suffers from rust-through in some areas.

Other projects included Mark Wing restoring an engine pan for his 1915 Coupelet project, Kirk Peterson fixing the turn signals on his Montana 500 coupe “Buster”, Paul Duncan doing the final assembly of the differential for his 1918 pickup project, and Don Neidigk working on the coil box for his 1926 coupe.

Thank you Larry for a very productive work day!
