Work Day at Larry’s Garage (Tues., April 27, 2021)

Story and photos by Paul Duncan

Larry has decided to have more participants at the work days. Everyone who comes has received at least one vaccine dose and the majority both shots. Much of the work is outside. Seven showed up for the Tuesday April 27, 2021 workday.

Kirk Peterson started the maroon painting of Buster in preparation for the Montana 500.

The Montana 500 rules say that participating cars need to be painted, so Kirk is treating “Buster” to some Rustoleum primer. Buster should make a respectable showing at the Montana 500 this year after a lot of preparation by Kirk and Larry!

Neil O’Brien needed a piece machined for Tim’s firetruck on Larry’s large lathe. Tim O’Brien was working on his recently purchased 1976 MG from Larry so he could move it out of Larry’s garage. It appears to run pretty well.

Don Neidigk is nearing the end of his 1926-27 engine rebuild and the pan and hogs head were attached.

Dave Ferro is attaching parts to his speedster frame. He has a rebuilt Torque tube, drive shaft and differential with Rocky Mountain Brakes and engine to attach.

Paul Duncan secured from John Hayne a used right sided differential gear case to replace the very worn original. The drive shaft inner sleeve was placed with difficulty. Larry will discuss with Lang’s the need to modify the sleeve’s inner diameter.
