After the breakfast, members drove their cars to nearby LOS POBLANOS. This inn, cultural center and organic farm is situated among 25 acres of lavender fields and lush gardens and is owned and managed by the Rembe family. Los Poblanos was designed by the famous New Mexican architect John Gaw Meem and is listed on both the New Mexico and National Registers of Historic Places. Built in the early 1930s, the property exhibits classic New Mexican architecture styles including Territorial and traditional farm structures. Significant artwork includes frescos including one by Peter Hurd, door carvings by Gustave Baumann and detailed ironwork. Penny Rembe gave the Tin Lizzies a personal tour of the property. At the end of the tour she took her first ride in a Model T chauffeured by Mark Wing in his coupe. Check out their web site at http://www.lospoblanos.com and follow news and events in their Noticias e-letter and on Facebook.
