4th of July Parade and Potluck in
Corrales
By Lorna Azevedo
Cars and people gathered early at the Azevedo’s to perk up there
cars with 4th of July colors. The cars, drivers and passengers then headed to the parade
route. July 4th was the perfect day for a
parade!
We had approximately 12 Model T’s in the parade with many Lizzies
catching rides where they could find seats. Neil’s fire truck was packed, and due to so many in our Club
making space, several guests were able to be in the parade, also… and they had a blast! The parade was a
tad shorter this year because of the temporary staging location, due to church services held at the Old
Church. It got very confusing making our way to the staging area, but we all made it into the parade by
force or dumb luck!
A huge ―Thank You goes out to everyone who brought dishes to the
picnic at the Azevedo’s. The food was delicious, and there was plenty for everyone. Many of our
friends from the Model A Club & the V-8 Club were in attendance. It was so good to visit with so
many people who have a love for the old Fords! It was the perfect day.
Enjoy a few photos of a very special Independence Day.
