Work Party at the Azevedo's
Garage
The work party for July 14 th was devoted to the long-term
project of getting Bruce's 1926 coupe ready for the upcoming "Rough Rider" tour to Las Vegas and Mora, New
Mexico at the end of August. Bruce has valiantly been battling cancer and has been under the weather
due to his treatments, so Club President Dean and Larry organized bringing the 1926 coupe over to Larry's
garage from Bruce's workshop. The previous owner had done a very nice job repainting the primary body
parts and the engine was installed on the chassis along with the drive train. Almost everything else
was in boxes.
This first day was spent looking through the parts to determine
what was present and what was missing and to make progress on cleaning and assembly where possible. Club
members worked on several projects such as repairing and installing the gas tank, preparing the
wire wheels for powder coating, installing wood body blocks, cleaning the engine, installing wiring, and
repairing a leaky radiator. A lot of work was accomplished that day and it was very impressive how many
Club members showed up to volunteer their time to help get Bruce's coupe ready to drive!
