Drive to the Sandia Mountains (Cibola National
Forest)
Russell and Julie Dilts organized a scenic drive and picnic in the Sandia Mountains for Saturday, October
1st. Seven Model T's and twenty-one Club members and friends gathered at the Albuquerque entrance to
Tijeras Canyon (Tramway Blvd. and Central Ave.) for the drive on Old Hwy 66. The plan was to cook the picnic
lunch on the way using manifold cookers for stew, beans, and cobbler! The weather was perfect for the
drive as it was in the 70's and the leaves on the deciduous trees were just beginning to turn
color.
