Appreciation Picnic at Sandia Lakes
Dean and Linda organized a member appreciation picnic for Saturday, July 30th at the
southern most area of Sandia Lakes - a beautiful venue owned by the Sandia Pueblo. Sandia Lakes is
located off of Highway 313 in Albuquerque's North Valley and it was recently upgraded with new picnic facilities,
shelters, and restrooms. The turnout was great with around 45 Tin Lizzies members, family, and friends in
attendance. Although it threatened to rain, we enjoyed warm and pleasant weather under the shade of the
cottonwood trees and our portable covers. The well organized picnic featured grilled hamburgers and hotdogs
by chef Dean, salads, fruit, chips, watermelon, and a very nice selection of drinks and cookies.
Several Model T's were driven to the picnic including Don Souther and Vernon Armstrong; the
Dilts'; the Mitchell's; the Azevedo's; Wing's; and Betty, Michael, and Kim Housholder.
Our sincere thanks go out to Dean and Linda and all the other members who contributed to
making the picnic a delicious and fun event!
Thank you also to Bob and Robbi Ross for contributing photographs.
