Tin Lizzie Car Show at Rich Ford
(Albuquerque)
On Saturday, March 17th, the Tin Lizzies were invited to show
their Model T's to help celebrate Rich Ford's 51st anniversary. Rich Ford in Albuquerque is the largest Ford
dealership in New Mexico. The club had also shown at Rich Ford (Albuquerque) the previous year as well as at their
dealership in Edgewood, NM (East of Albuquerque). The morining started out with the first Tin Lizzies arriving
around 8:30AM for breakfast at the Mustang Cafe' on the Rich Ford dealership premises. March 17th was also St.
Patrick's Day which would explain why so many Club members were wearing green and why Linda had distributed green
and white lei (yes - lei is the correct word for
both singular and plural) and miniature green hats!

In the afternoon, the Club continued to greet visitors and catch up on the progress of their
Model T projects. Around 3:00PM members started for home. The weather that day was better than many
people anticipated as the forcast was for very heavy winds in the latter part of the afternoon. With the
favorable weather and good participation, the Club had a fine time and several visitors have a new
appreciation and respect for these tough, simple, and quirky machines! If fact, the Club may have attracted a
new member or two!
The only mishap on the way home was Don Mitchell's Tudor wouldn't shift into high
gear. He was given a ride to his house (which was close by) and returned to his stranded T with his
pickup truck and trailer. Good luck Don on tracking down this problem. We'll have to find out if this
unfortunate incident is worthy of Don receiving the "Rubber Chicken" award!
