Work Party at the Azevedo's Garage

There was a work party at Larry's garage on Saturday, August 20th to continue to help club members prepare their T's for the "Badlands Tour" to Grants, NM (beginning August 25th) and to continue on other longer-term restoration projects.

Larry was increadibly busy this Saturday as there were at least seven projects being worked on simultaneously.  Among the projects were Skip Dunn repairing the exhaust system on his 1914 nickel plated touring car, Bob Ross troubleshooting a misaligned fan belt and low power problem with his newly acquired 1926 roadster, Don Mitchell restoring a water pump, Mark Wing continuing repairs on his rear wheel/floating hub, Paul Duncan's continued assembly of his 1920 touring, Steve Suttle replacing steering bushings on his 1925 coupe, and Neil O'Brien machining rod bearings on Tim's 1923 fire truck.

The biggest milestone of the day was starting up the Duncan's 1920 touring car engine for the first time since a full restoration.  Included in the restoration were .020" oversized aluminum pistons, reground crankshaft, new valves, and the addition of a starter, generator, and battery.  After gas and a few adjustments, the car started and ran well!  Now Paul and Marilyn can concentrate on installing the body back on the chassis and final assembly.

Thank you to Larry and Lorna for sharing their garage, equipment, time, and expertise.  Their support is one of the primary reasons that the Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque is so active, growing, and able to keep so many cars in running condition!
