Work Party at the Azevedo's
Garage
At May 7th's work party, John Seawell worked on inserting new bushings into his spring perches.
With Vernon's assistance, the old bushings were pressed out and new ones installed.
Steve Suttle had prevously mounted two new Firestone tires on his Hayes demountable rims of his 1925
coupe and brought the last two to mount that Saturday. With Larry's and other club members assistance,
the tires were both mounted in less than 20 minutes!
Larry has been pouring rods
and main bearings lately for Tim O'Briens 1923 fire truck as well as for the Duncan's 1920 touring. The
focus this workday was to cast the main bearings for the touring. Larry demonstrated how to prepare the
surfaces, preheat the moulds and how to seat the babbitt once it was poured and allowed to
cool.
Once again, it was a very
productive and instructive day at Larry's garage!
